Spicy Jalapeño Hummus

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chickpeas
  • 1/2 cup plant based milk
  • 1/2 cup sliced Jalapeños
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast (for a slightly cheesy flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Place cooked chickpeas into a medium sized pot
  2. Pour plant based milk onto the chickpeas
  3. Using a potato masher, mash the chickpeas with the milk to create a creamy texture
  4. Pour all spices and nutritional yeast into the mixture
  5. Stirring occasionally, cook on a low-medium heat for about 5-10 minutes
  6. Stir most of the sliced Jalapeños into the mixture
  7. Continue cooking for a couple minutes, adding more milk as needed
  8. Remove from heat and top with the remaining sliced Jalapeños
